No need to head to that favorite smoothie or breakfast bowl joint of yours! You can easily make breakfast bowls at home without much fuss. There’s only one requirement– a blender! If you have one and I hope you do, then let’s make some breakfast bowls… Starting with a dragonfruit breakfast bowl!Jump to Recipe
I love love love breakfast bowls, dragonfruit or acai, but I always thought they were such a hassle to make. I got tired of my boring breakfast routine– either a boatload of one kind of fruit, oatmeal, or cereal and I honestly think that this is much easier than making pancakes or waffles.
And you can always switch it up! You don’t have to use the same toppings over and over again. Try new granola or use different fruit.
Here are some common toppings to use:
- granola (I used oats & honey from Nature Valley)
- strawberries and bananas (or any other fruit of your choice)
- chia seeds or ground flaxseed
Now let’s prepare some breakfast!
Simple, healthy breakfast bowl featuring dragonfruit (pitaya)! No reason to buy at the store when you can make them yourself at home as much as you want.
- 1 pack frozen dragonfruit (found in the freezer section at local grocery store such as Sprouts)
- 3-4 medium-sized frozen strawberries
- 1/2 banana
- 2-3 strawberries, sliced
- 1/2 banana, sliced
- 1 tsp ground flaxseed or chia seeds
- 1 tbsp granola
Place frozen dragonfruit (split into parts for a quicker blend), frozen strawberries, and banana into a blender. Blend until thick. Pour into a bowl.
Top with strawberries, banana, granola, ground flaxseed, or any other toppings of your choice.
